How does an idea or an artwork alter our perception of the gallery, influencing our awareness of the space, its underlying histories and associated cultural frameworks? How does viewing a work within or beyond gallery spaces influence our reception of an artwork?

Works in this quarter investigate the gallery as a codified space, engaging with locational properties or architectural characteristics of Stanley Picker Gallery and/or the 7.9 Cubic Metres structure.

Works may address questions pertaining to the nature of representation, exploring on-site memory, the materiality or non-materiality of art, and the performative or interventional gesture.
